Anthony Emigh
Sgt. Anthony L. Emigh, U.S. Army Retired, 60, passed away Feb. 18, 2010, in
Denver, Colo. He was born July 17, 1949, to James F. Emigh and Ethel Stark who
both preceded him in death along with stepfather, Carl E. Stark. He was retired
from the U. S. Army with 20-plus years of service, where he received the Army
Service Ribbon, National Defense Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon-2,
Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal,
with 60 Device, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Civil Action Honor Medal,
Good Conduct Medal, with 6th Award and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He also was
a member of the 20th Engineer Brigade from 1969 to 1970 Vietnam. In April of 1971, he
married the love of his life, Amelia Emigh; they spent 38 beautiful years together. Anthony
always had the drive to stay busy after retirement and do some traveling, he continued to
work, the Adesa Auto Auction in Colorado Springs, and the Colorado State Fair. Anthony is
survived by his loving wife, Amelia Emigh; stepdaughter, Valarie (Michael) Perez of Hutto,
Texas; daughter, Toni L. (Christopher) Higby of Germany; son, Stephen C. Emigh of Pueblo,
Colo.; stepgrandsons, Michael and Marc Perez of Hutto, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Higby,
Sarah and Christina Higby all of Germany, Rosabel DeLeon and Elijah A. Emigh, both of
Pueblo. Memorial service, 1 p.m. Monday, Angelus Chapel, with military honors by Fort
Carson Honor Guard.
