Jerry Dean Cook, 77, of Pelion died December 18, 2023. He was born on April 11, 1946, in Gaffney, SC, a son of Jay Cook and Lilly Mae Patrick Cook. Jerry was a career soldier, serving 22 years in the U.S. Army. He retired as a Master Sgt. After his retirement from the military he was employed by Hoover Building Systems. He was a member of the Lexington County Veterans Combat Group, a past Commander of the VFW Post 9037 and a member of the Gaston Masonic Lodge.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Georgia Cox, and his children, Timothy Cook Sheffield, Sherrie Rawlinson and Gloria Taylor. Jerry was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his daughters, Teresa Cook and Kathy Corson.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The funeral will be held 10:00am, Thursday, December 28, 2023 in the Chapel at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 12:00 (Noon).
