Teddy McGovern

Teddy Perry McGovern, age 78, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023.

Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2023, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Hinton officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Teddy entered this life on November 29, 1944, in Stewart County, TN to the late Ewing and Elrena Mullins McGovern. He was a  retired welder with Civil Service, and a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Teddy was a member of Dotsonville Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Jone Waynick McGovern; daughter, BJ McGovern; grandson, Aleksandr McGovern; granddaughter, Kennedy McGovern, and sister, Nancy Bogard.

For more than 30 years, Teddy, with the help of his family and friends enjoyed hosting an annual picnic for clients and staff of Progressive Directions Inc. Teddy was a member of the Clarksville Shrine Club and Al Menah Shriners. Over the years, Teddy collected thousands of dollars for the Shriner's crippled and burn hospitals.

One of the many things that brought happiness to Teddy was grilling and surprising his friends with a feast.
